PSHE Education at Clifton College Prep School follows a spiralling curriculum which starts in the Pre-Prep and continues all the way up into the Upper School. It is a developmental programme of learning through which children and young people acquire the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to manage their lives now and in the future.

Teaching

The PSHE programme helps develop the Clifton core values of spirit, integrity and resilience. We help pupils to build their confidence, self-esteem and to identify and manage risk. To make informed choices and understand what influences their decisions. It enables them to manage emotions and to communicate constructively in a variety of settings.

PSHE education also makes a unique contribution to safeguarding at Clifton College Prep and supports the school to fulfil our statutory duty to teach pupils to keep themselves safe.

Equality, diversity, inclusion and belonging (EDIB) are fundamental to supporting our core values and underpins everything we teach in PSHE.

Why Study at Clifton College?

PSHE Education is considered a very important subject at Clifton and in Years 6, 7 & 8, it is taught by dedicated PSHE teachers. In Years 4 & 5, their class teachers, who know them best, help nurture and guide their learning. In Year 6, the pupils visit the Lifeskills Centre where they learn how to stay safe in our modern world and we endeavour to invite key speakers in to help both our pupil and parent body.
