School closure - 4 December 2024

The UK Government has issued a red warning of wind in the Bristol area, and advise that people must stay indoors and travel should be avoided. This means that the College site will be closed tomorrow morning (Saturday 7th December). The scheduled SATS exams on this date also cannot be held at the College at this time.

A very warm welcome to The Prep School

We have 3 aims at The Prep and they are the same for pupils, parents and staff; Aim High, Be Kind, Be Brave.

Aiming high is about doing your very best at whatever is in front of you, be it a spelling test, an audition for the choir or a shot at a goal.

Being kind will be the most important thing that we learn at school as we live together and learn to value those around us.

Being brave often takes just a few seconds as pupils are encouraged to try new activities, make new friends and make the most of every opportunity that The Prep has to offer.

Jim Walton Headmaster of the Preparatory School

Enabling, empowering and supporting pupils to aim high and stay grounded.

There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach at The Preparatory School. Our pupils join us in Year 4 (aged 8) and stay with us until joining our Upper School in Year 9 (aged 13). Each child is considered and treated as an individual with a unique profile of skills, passions, talents and undiscovered potential.
