Registration fee

This is a non-returnable payment of £150, due when a pupil’s name is entered.

Acceptance deposit

A deposit of £1,250 is required for pupils whose parents are EU citizens and resident within the EU. For all other students a deposit equal to one term’s fees is required. These requirements do not apply to pupils moving from the Pre-Preparatory School. The repayment of deposits is linked to the settlement of final fee invoices upon the departure of the pupil from Clifton College. Parents are welcome to gift aid the deposit to Clifton College when a pupil leaves.

Occasional boarding

Occasional boarding for Day pupils is charged at £39 per night.

Voluntary extras

Music lessons are available to pupils in a range of disciplines. If you wish your child to have lessons please complete the relevant section of the authorisation form or contact the Director of Music. The charges will be £33.00 per lesson, for a 40-minute lesson. At the discretion of the teacher, pupils may be taught in pairs, or in larger groups, with an adjustment to the fee. Music instruments can generally be hired but must be insured by the parent against ‘All Risks’ to the value stated by the music department.

Unless notice of cancellation is given, in writing, it will be assumed that the pupil requires tuition to continue from term to term and arrangements will be made accordingly. If parents wish to give notice they must allow a period equivalent to ten lessons from the day of that notice and an appropriate charge may be made to recover costs incurred.

Private tuition for additional foreign languages, special educational needs and other subjects not offered within the curriculum may be provided and will be charged at an hourly rate of £51.75.

The Early Years Grant

Bristol City Council is introducing an enhanced Early Years Grant for 3 to 4 year olds from September 2017.  It is increasing from 15 hours to 30 hours.  Unfortunately, it is not possible for the College to absorb this increase and as a result we will no longer accept the Early Years Grant from September 2017.

Childcare Vouchers

Clifton College accepts childcare vouchers from a number of providers (for further
information, contact your tax advisor or see: http://www.childcarevouchers.co.uk/). The College accepts Childcare Vouchers as payment for qualifying activities. Vouchers can be redeemed against Nursery fees from the term in which a child turns 3 and, in respect of older children, against out of hours school activities such as wrap around care, Holiday Clubs and the marginal costs of boarding fees where applicable.

How the process works

To begin our School admissions process please contact our Admissions team by phone, email or on-line to discuss your child’s application to Clifton College and the next steps.

Firstly, we will invite you to visit Clifton College, either on a personal visit or by attending one of our Open Days.

Following your visit, and if you wish to proceed with the Admission process, we will ask you to register your child and pay a non-refundable £150 registration fee.
