Scholarships and Bursaries

Clifton College offers pupils a unique opportunity to achieve academic distinction and personal excellence. Each year, we offer a number of Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries to girls and boys with that spark of potential.

It’s all about the individual

There is no one particular type of pupil that succeeds at Clifton College. The range of opportunities available promotes the discovery of hidden talents, and encourages a higher level of achievement in every subject.

Scholarships and Awards

Clifton College offers scholarships at ages 11, 13 and into the Sixth Form. Awards are offered in Academic, Music, Art and Sport with a maximum value of 25% of fees. Supplementary means-tested Bursaries are available. The number of awards will depend on the quality of the field and candidates may enter for more than one award.

Bursaries are means-tested Awards and are made at the School’s discretion. They are given in addition to a Scholarship or Award. In accordance with the Charities Commission guidelines, Bursaries are made following the completion of a Grant Application Form (GAF) that includes a ‘Confidential Statement of Financial Circumstances’. Bursaries may, in exceptional circumstances, be awarded up to 100% of the fees. Where appropriate, applications for Bursaries should be submitted with a Scholarship application form.

Jewish boys and girls are encouraged to apply for any of Clifton College’s Academic, Music, Art and Sport Awards (at ages 11, 13 and 16 ). The Trustees of the Polack’s House Scholarships Fund are also able to award a number of means-tested Polack Bursaries for Jewish children who would not otherwise be able to attend the School. For more information on the Jewish Community within Clifton College, please see our Polack’s House Educational Trust (PHET) page.

We also offer a HM Forces Bursary and sibling discount. Visit our fees page to find out more.
