The Pens Cross Country Race 2022

Yesterday, we were lucky enough to have a dry and rather pleasant afternoon for our annual Pens cross country event.

The end of the Lent Term brought the infamous inter-house running competition; the Pens. The race sees pupils running distances cross country, from 4.5 km for Third Form up to 9.6 km for the Sixth Form, with Fourth and Fifth Form running an in-between distance.

Our Upper School students gathered at Bristol Cathedral School’s playing fields in the sunshine, before the long, middle and short pen races set off in staggered times from the field’s starting like, leading them through the hilly grounds of Ashton Court Estate and then back up to the playing fields which they first started. Here, they were met by the finish line and a big cheer from the crowd of supporters.

All of our students did fantastically in their races and we are delighted to announce the following winners:

Long pen
1st boy: Jonathan from North Town
1st girl: Maya from Hallward’s House

Middle pen
1st boy: Johnny from School House
1st girl: Charlotte from West Town

Short pen
1st boy: Halbie from North Town
1st girl: Llywela from West Town

A big well done to everyone involved!
