Clifton College Sixth Former Ioan Lloyd performed brilliantly in the Wales U18s rugby game against Scotland U18s in their first match of the season.
Ioan was selected to play at full back and he set up the match-winning try which saw Wales winning by a very close 32-30.
He was delighted to be picked for the team. He said: “The game was great fun, it was a good experience to play at International standard.
“I was thrilled to be picked for the team as I have been working hard to improve my game to get into the squad.”
Ioan is also a member of the Bristol Academy and has played in every match this season, a highlight being his fantastic solo try against Saracens at Allianz Park.
He has also had a training session with Bristol 1st XV which has furthermore improved his skills and gained him some invaluable experience.
His talents not only lie in rugby as he also plays 1st XII football for Clifton College and will be attending the Sri Lankan Cricket Tour this term as he is also an outstanding cricketer.
“Clifton College has been instrumental in preparing me for a future in professional rugby. I have the chance to play regularly and we have the best coaching as well as a professional strength and conditioning programme.
“My goal is to make the most of the chance I’ve been given and hopefully keep my place in the Welsh team next year,” he said.
