Congratulations to All Pupils for an Excellent Set of GCSE Grades

We would like to extend a huge congratulations to all our pupils receiving their GCSE results today, almost a quarter of GCSE grades were 9s and 61% were 9-7 (nearly 40% higher than the national average of 22.4%*), with 31 different subjects offered. With plenty of reason to celebrate, it was a joy to share their successes with friends, parents and teaching staff on school grounds.

Our pupils have achieved a wide range of exceptional grades, including;

Alex, who started in the Prep School, achieved eleven 9s and is looking forward to going on to study Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Physics in our Sixth Form this September. He said all his teachers were great and praised his English teacher for helping to raise his grades in English from 6s and 7s to 9s in a short space of time!

Nicole who will be going on to study Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Further Maths with us after receiving ten 9s and one 8 in her GCSEs. She added that she loves the teaching at Clifton and that it truly supports pupils at all levels, with a kind and caring attitude.

Rosie who joined us in the Prep School achieved nine 9s and one 8 and will be going on to study English Literature, French, Biology and Product Design at A Level.

Henry, who is looking forward to the Sixth Form where he will be studying Maths, Chemistry and Business after receiving three 9s, four 8s and one 7. He said the extra clinics and focused practice papers really helped him achieve these fantastic grades.

Head of College, Dr Tim Greene, said: “I would like to congratulate all our pupils on securing such a great set of results. These results have come about through a great deal of hard work and with amazing support from all the teaching staff. I very much look forward to welcoming all the pupils back in a few weeks as they start their post-16 studies and take the next step on their individual academic journey.”

Deputy Head Academic, Dr Gavin Turner, said: “I congratulate all our Year 11 pupils that have received their GCSE results today. As with last week’s A Level and BTEC results, there is a huge amount to celebrate here with some astonishing individual performances. For these pupils, this represents the end of a two year journey but also signals the transition into the Sixth Form where they can build on these successes whilst having even more ownership and responsibility for their studies. I commend them for their efforts and hard work – well done!

A big well done from everyone at Clifton College, we hope you enjoy the rest of your summer and look forward to welcoming you back to the Sixth Form in September.
