Christmas season begins with beautiful Advent Carol Service in Chapel

The Christmas season began on Sunday in the Clifton College Chapel with our beautiful annual Advent Carol Service.

After a festive gathering for mince pies and mulled wine in the Chapel Crypt, OCs and parents gathered with pupils from across the whole College to celebrate the beginning of Advent.

The service began with one solitary candle flickering in the darkness symbolising the light of God breaking into the darkness of the world. This light then spread around the Chapel as each member of the congregation lit their candle symbolising the love of God spreading across the world.

The College Chaplain was assisted as he led the service by pupils from the Pre-Prep, Prep School and Upper School who read readings and led the prayers. A combined Prep and Upper School choir lifted the roof with their singing, highlighting the musical talent that the College are lucky enough to enjoy.

Shortly after, OCs and parents moved across to Big School for our House Art Exhibition, where an array of spectacular artwork by our students was displayed for all to marvel at.
