Nicholas Hammond Society Dinner 2024
On Friday 18th October, all scholars from Years 9-11, together with some guest scholars from Year 8, attended what was a highly successful and enjoyable annual Nicholas Hammond Society Dinner.
Beginning with a wonderful music concert in the Chapel, then moving on to an interactive Art exhibition in the Newbolt Room, all scholars (Academic, Art, Music, DT, Drama) made their way to BSK for a formal black-tie celebratory dinner.
The Scholarship Programme was thus officially ‘launched’ for the 2024-25 year. Current senior scholars, Alex L. (13 ST) and Annie G. (13 OH) gave inspiring speeches passing on their wisdom and giving tips about ‘life as a scholar’.
Assistant Head Academic, Dr Bradley Wells, gave a challenging keynote address which outlined the programme while also urging everyone to seize the opportunity afforded them by being members of ‘The Academy’ and urged everyone, in the spirit of Spiderman, to also seek ways to lead and serve.
Throughout the evening, there were various intellectual challenges too, including a series of games and quizzes which were, shall we say, very keenly fought. In all, it was a wonderful evening. Thanks to everyone who was involved.
