National Schools Equestrian Association Championships

The start of half term saw four of the parent led Equestrian Team head to the prestigious All England Hickstead showground near Brighton for the 2019 -2021 National Schools Equestrian Association Championships.

It was really exciting with teams and individuals qualified from schools all over the country thrilled to have qualified to compete at the Championships.

Tom Brown kept his cool to ride a perfect round in the Jumping With Style 75 to take first place and win the Individual Championship with his pony Rosewater Manchineel, Catherine Collins also had a great round on City Image which although slower than Tom’s was good enough for a very respectable 6th. Tom’s brother Will rode The Midnight Fox excellently in the Jumping With Style 85 class, also claiming a 6th place, he then went on to get another 6th in the highly competitive 85 speed class.

Our team captain Emily Hall was unlucky to roll a couple of poles in each of her classes on Black Magic Lad and Venz Boucheron and sadly the team weren’t placed, but an individual championship and three placings is a fantastic result for a squad which had already done brilliantly just to qualify to be there.

Congratulations to Tom, Will, Catherine and Emily, and to the other members of the squad who had qualified but weren’t able to make the journey to Brighton: Jemima Young, Jemima Windows and Bella Herring.

Clifton College is proud to support the parent lead Equestrian Team. Please note; though this team competes under the Clifton College name, it is not governed by the College.
