Creativity shines in Reception this week

This week in Reception we have been practising our Nativity as well as listening and reading a variety of Nativity stories. The children have shown an understanding of the Christmas story linked to their own experiences of being a character from the special story. We have been impressed with the children’s speaking and listening skills and their ability to follow instructions, along with learning the lyrics of the songs and singing them expressively with actions.

On Wednesday, the children had a special visit from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre company who performed their version of the Nativity. This was interesting for the children to experience and they enjoyed joining in with familiar songs in a new context. At the end the children discussed their favourite character.

The children have really embraced being creative this week and it’s been lovely to see.
