Charities Committee update May

2021 has seen many challenges, however, the Charities Committee has continued to thrive!

In the Lent term, there were a variety of fun-filled opportunities for raising money.  Despite being online, we were still able to host an international themed Home Clothes Day, where pupils were able to celebrate their cultures.

Upon returning to campus, the committee got back into its stride with an Easter chocolate sale, with over £150 worth of chocolate sold. This was a fun way to lift spirits with one pupil exclaiming how this had made their week!

Our second event saw an array of enthusiasm as we hosted the Clifton College virtual pet show with Yanto (Miss Clark’s dog) becoming the top dog.

In the Summer term we started off with a bang, organising a summer themed Home Clothes Day, which undoubtedly brought a summer smile to all the pupils and staff, and took profits well over £1,000.

In terms of upcoming events, don’t forget to splash some cash at our ice cream sale, and please start saving any branded uniform (kilts, blazers, trousers, jumpers, ties, scarves) for our June second hand uniform sale (details to follow).

All our efforts were highly motivated by our drive and dedication to help our chosen charities; the headlining charity for 2021 is Show Racism the Red Card, the country’s largest anti-racism education charity, and Something To Look Forward To, supporting the families of those affected by cancer.
