A flying start to term for Clifton’s footballers

It was a flying start to term for Clifton’s footballers this weekend, with the 1st XI racking up a record-breaking 11-1 win against Blundell’s.

Opening the scoring after just 17 seconds allowed a young side, which included one Year 10 debutant and four Year 11 students to settle quickly and they soon grasped full control of the match.

Arthur led the line superbly, bagging a hat-trick, while there were braces for Demo, Chris and Isaac.

There were also notable victories for the 5th XI, winning 7-0 against Blundell’s 4th XI, and the U14A who won 3-0 against Llandaff Cathedral thanks to an Andy brace.

The 2nd XI took part in a triangular tournament, narrowly losing 1-0 to Llandaff Cathedral 1st XI before beating Blundell’s 3-0 to ensure a second-place finish.
