Prism of Light shines bright at unforgettable Pride celebration!
On Friday 25 April, the Clifton College Quad was buzzing with vibrant energy as students, staff, OCs and friends gathered for the spectacular Prism of Light Pride celebration! From the moment our brilliant Upper 6th DJ kicked off the evening with his infectious beats, a palpable sense of joy and unity filled the air. As twilight fell, the rainbow lights illuminating the cloisters began to shine brightly, adding a magical and symbolic backdrop to the festivities.
Our fantastic hosts and Pride Society coordinators set the perfect tone, reminding us of the importance of standing together. The stage then came alive with incredible student talent, first up was a powerful rendition of Eurovision hit Hold Me Closer, followed by Taylor Swift’s Fearless spirit.
Just when we thought the energy couldn’t get any higher the crowd was directed to the Close for a breathtaking performance by the talented students from Circomedia. Their display of skill and artistry truly added a magical touch to the evening!
The celebration took a thoughtful turn as we welcomed our Head of College and Chaplin, who shared inspiring words of support, inclusivity, and love that resonated deeply with everyone present.
The spotlight shone brightly on the amazing performance of Spotlight from Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, captivating the audience with stunning vocals. We were then treated to the beautiful melodies of a piano performance of Lavender Fields, a truly special moment of calm, before a fantastic blast from the past with an energetic performance of Let’s Hear it for the Boy, getting everyone dancing!
As the evening drew to a close, our Headmaster of the Prep School and Assistant Head (EDIB) took to the stage to express heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made the event so special – from the incredible performers and the Circomedia students to the dedicated staff volunteers and, of course, the fantastic DJ.
Our Assistant Head (EDIB) beautifully reminded us that Pride is more than just a single evening; it’s an ongoing movement towards equality and acceptance for all. And what better way to conclude such a vibrant celebration than with a Pride anthem? We saw three talented pupils return to the stage for a dazzling performance of ABBA’s Dancing Queen, filling the space with light, love, and a whole lot of singing along!
This event was a true testament to the inclusive and supportive spirit of our school community. It was a night filled with incredible talent, inspiring messages, and an overwhelming sense of Pride!
