Parents who choose Clifton College for their children can feel safe in the knowledge that their children will be nurtured.

We believe it is important to develop the whole child, both within and beyond the classroom. Our co-curricular activities are designed to engage and interest children and allow them to discover new skills and interests.

All pupils have the chance to try their hand at different activities, such as art, drama, singing, dancing and sport.

More structured after school clubs start in Year 1, where there are lots of fun clubs such as drama or karate. These are mostly run by staff and are free of charge. Where an activity requires the employment of an outside coach (e.g. Karate, Judo, Ballet or Tap), there may be an extra charge. Each term, the club choices are changed and the children have the opportunity to try their hands at lots of different skills – creative, sporty or just plain fun.

Much of our emphasis is on learning through play; for example, through the Forest School, where children explore and experience the natural world through practical activities that help them grow in confidence and self-esteem – benefits that will have positive effects on all areas of a child’s life and learning.

Special events are arranged on a regular basis, and the children take part in many educational trips. These include visits by theatre groups and dance workshops; participation in the annual Book Fair; concerts and shows; guest speakers; fundraising events for charity.
