Theatre Duty Manager

The Redgrave Theatre at Clifton College requires a Theatre Duty Manager to assist in general duty management of the Theatre. In addition, the role will involve caring for public and hire companies as required. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills; technical knowledge of theatre would also be an advantage. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.

We are looking for someone who is flexible and would like 18 hours per week – this would vary between evening shifts and daytime work, depending on the performance schedule. Candidates must be able to offer weekends as required.

Post Graduate Gap Year Tutor

£9024-9600 actual salary, depending on age.

Fixed term contract 1st September 2017 - 30th June 2018.

This is a full time position which provides suitable applicants with the opportunity of benefiting from all aspects of working in a large, busy and thriving Boarding and Day Preparatory School. Successful applicants should expect to participate wholeheartedly in all walks of school life, as well as being able to develop their own areas of specialism, as applicable. There will be the possibility of residential accommodation for the right candidate, along with full use of all College sporting and recreational facilities. 

Successful candidates may also be able to seek holiday employment with Clifton College Services Limited. This would be remunerated separately and in addition to the basic salary. The post would carry an initial fixed term contract of one academic year with the possibility of further extension for the right candidate.

We are especially interested in candidates who have specialism in girls’ Netball.

Senior Secretary (Preparatory School) – Full Time, 52 weeks a year

Salary: up to £25,000.00 dependent upon experience

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Secretary who will provide day-to-day support for the smooth running of the secretarial administration department in the Preparatory School. He/she will also be the Secretarial Assistant for the Deputy Heads. The role will have interaction with pupils, staff, parents and visitors. We require someone who is used to working in a busy office and has excellent organisational, prioritisation and time management skills in order to work effectively with the peaks and cycles of the academic year.

Sports Centre Duty Manager

£7.50 per hour, casual hours

Clifton College Sports Centre is looking for a part time Duty Manager to assist in the operation of its busy Centre. Previous sport and leisure experience and industry qualifications including First Aid and Pool Plant are desired as is a key interest in sport and leisure.

On a shift pattern Monday - Sunday, including evenings. Casual hours – up to 20 hours per week term time, with increased hours (up to 35) in the summer holidays.

Head of Drama

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, talented, committed and inspiring Head of Drama from September 2017, on a full time, permanent basis.

Clifton College has a strong reputation for Drama and production work and this post will give the opportunity to strengthen further the opportunities and academic teaching throughout Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the academic subject, and will work with the Director of Drama in productions and other areas. We follow the WJEC Eduqas GCSE and A level syllabuses, and the postholder will need to support the teaching of LAMDA throughout the school.

Teacher of Learning Support

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, talented, committed and inspiring Teacher of Learning Support from September 2017, on a full time, permanent basis.

Clifton College has a strong reputation for Learning Support and offers students both group and individual lessons to consolidate literacy, numeracy and study skills. The Learning Support Department is run by an Educational Psychologist and keeps up-to-date with the latest research in order to provide students with evidence-based interventions.

A willingness and ability to teach another subject as well as fully committing to the co-curricular and tutoring aspects of working in a school such as ours could be an advantage.

Holiday Club Coordinators 2017

Clifton College Holiday Club operates during each school holiday

We are looking for individuals with a keen interest in sport/drama/arts & crafts activities to assist in delivering our wide ranging annual programme. You should be well organised and able to work in a large, fast-paced and often challenging Holiday Club environment. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work well as part of a team, calmly, with energy and a sense of humour.

Applicants would ideally have experience of delivering activities for children. We are also looking for individuals who can show initiative under pressure, engage with children, and bring enthusiasm to our team and the programme.

We operate weekdays of every Clifton College holiday, including half terms (approx 18 weeks annually) and are keen to recruit candidates who are readily available throughout the year and not just during the Summer or other main holiday periods.

There are two roles available:

Kids’ Club Coordinator responsible for planning, organisation and delivery of the daily programmes for 8-13 year olds. Candidates should have experience of leading sport/drama/arts & crafts/team building type activities for children.

Juniors Holiday Club Coordinator responsible for planning, organisation and delivery of the daily programmes for 5-7 year olds. Candidates should have knowledge and experience of running Play opportunities for children.

For the right candidates, there is the option of full board and accommodation during the Easter holiday (4 weeks) and Summer holiday (9 weeks) programmes.

Senior Nurse Manager - Term Time Only

Band 7 pro rata per annum

The post holder will lead a School Nursing Team in providing a clinically effective, high quality service to the pupils of Clifton College. School nursing is a specialised practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being, academic success and life-long achievement of pupils. The Senior Nurse Manager will use research-based practice to plan, deliver and evaluate school nursing interventions throughout the whole College and will be responsible for the Health Centre.

The post holder is expected to work in partnership with pupils, parents, school personnel, GPs and other appropriate agencies to carry out health surveillance, health promotion and other public health initiatives required by the College.

Hours are an average of 37.5 hours per week during term time, applicants must be flexible to meet the needs of the College and able to manage their own hours.

Bar Staff (Casual) - The Redgrave Theatre

£6.80-£7.20 per hour

The Redgrave Theatre is a 317 seat venue in the heart of Clifton run by Clifton College. It hosts a number of external companies as well as running productions for the college throughout the entirety of the year.

We are looking for enthusiastic bar staff to support evening and weekend shows to help with setting up the bar, serving customers and closing down the bar after shows.
