Performing Arts

The performing arts are an important part of school life at Clifton College. Participation in performance encourages children to develop their creative side, improves confidence and bolsters self-esteem.


All pupils have weekly class music lessons. Pupils in Years 2 learn the violin or cello. From Year 2 onwards, pupils may choose to learn other instruments, such as the piano, keyboard, violin, cello, trumpet, flute, guitar or drums.

All our children regularly perform in concerts, assemblies and services, such as Harvest, Nativity and Easter.


Ballet Lessons are offered to all pupils at an extra cost. Tap Dance lessons are offered to Year 2 at an extra cost. Where possible, these take on Saturday. 


Each year, we stage a full-scale musical show in the Redgrave Theatre, in which all children from Year 2 sing and dance to a remarkably high standard. You can see our latest production in the video below:
