Health and Food

As a parent, the health and safety of your child is one of your biggest concerns and this is something we share. All our staff undertake first aid training regularly and, unlike most other nurseries, we have a school nurse present throughout the day. Clifton College also has its own health centre (The San), where fully qualified and experienced medical staff are on hand to offer advice and guidance. Parents can therefore feel reassured that if their child is injured or taken ill, they will receive excellent care.

Nursery Food

Our children are busy learning and having fun so we provide them with healthy drinks and snacks throughout the day to help keep their energy levels up. Every morning, the children have a selection of fruit and vegetables or bread and butter which they help to prepare themselves.

Nursery Lunch

Our 5* Food Hygiene Rated catering team provides a balanced and delicious hot cooked lunch, and the children help to set the tables and serve themselves. Vegetarian options are available, as well as the choice of a hot pudding, fruit or cheese. We believe that it is just as important for children to learn how to eat properly with good table manners as it is for them to learn their lessons in the classroom.

As a special Friday treat, and inline with a long standing Clifton College tradition, the children have Fish (Fingers) and Chips! Watch our 'Lunchtime with Nursery' video to see how lunchtime work in the Nursery.

Healthy Eating

Our menus offer healthy options at every mealtime. We add only the minimum amount of salt, fats and oils to the dishes we prepare, and do not provide salt on the tables.  We are very careful not to offer to too many sugary foods.

If your child has specialised diet needs, please let us know so we can advise which meals will be suitable from the wide selection we offer.
