Poole’s is a happy, vibrant and busy house and our aim is to make the girls feel ‘at home’. Staff are always available to lend a hand, offer a friendly word of advice or a sympathetic ear. Exceptionally friendly and positive, Poole’s girls are involved in a wide range of school and House-based activities and are a multi-talented group.
The House is made up of Boarders and Day girls; many of our Day girls come to board on an occasional basis and all are welcome to make full use of our excellent House facilities. Our House team is composed of enthusiastic tutors and matrons.
Our kitchen is the heart of the home and offers mid-morning snacks, in-House supper and delicious breakfasts on Sundays as well as a variety of cookery activities for our Day and Boarding pupils.
Poole’s House boasts cheerful, comfortable sitting rooms where the girls can relax and socialise, as well as a dedicated music practice room with piano. The girls have use of a computer suite in the prep room and the House offers a variety of comfortable dorm rooms, some overlooking the seal enclosure at Bristol Zoo.
Day girls arrive from 8:00am onwards and many stay on for tea and prep, depending on their routine and parental wishes. We have a full weekend programme of activities for the Boarders to enjoy, ranging from trips to Longleat to ten pin bowling, from ice skating to jewellery making!
