Team sport is an important feature of School Life. We aim to provide aspiring young hockey players with every opportunity to develop their skills, reach their full potential and enjoy their participation in the sport.
Three afternoons a week are set aside for the development of core skills, tactical knowledge and games awareness. We promote positive attitudes that value respect, commitment, determination and teamwork.
We have an extensive fixture list, fielding as many teams as possible and providing every pupil with the opportunity to compete and represent the School regardless of ability.
Our excellent staff-to-pupil ratio offers each pupil the perfect opportunity to fulfil their potential.
Rugby is the major sport for boys in the Autumn Term and is played from Year 3 onwards. We have excellent facilities, including two junior pitches on the Close, a further two local pitches, and many more at our fantastic Beggar’s Bush facilities.
All our coaches have RFU Licenses, which ensures the coaching is up-to-date and of a superb standard.
Hockey is the major sport for girls in the Michaelmas Term and boys in the Lent Term.
We have excellent hockey facilities, and a water-based Astroturf pitch of International standard complements our twin Astroturf pitches.
Each Hockey team has its own coach and mentor throughout the season.
