Facilities

As well as the Preparatory School Hall, which has its own stage, specialised buildings such as the Joseph Cooper Music School and the Redgrave Theatre ensure our pupils have access to first-class facilities that enhance their educational experience.

Redgrave Theatre

Clifton College has its own theatre, originally known as the Clifton College Theatre but renamed in honour of old Cliftonian actor, Sir Michael Redgrave.

The theatre offers perfect sight lines from all seats, allowing for an excellent relationship between actors and audience, and is one of the most popular venues in Bristol for all types of theatre.

Music School

The newly-refurbished Joseph Cooper Music School boasts some of the finest school music facilities in the country. As well as a recital hall and 15 practice rooms, there is a 4-room recording suite and 3 classrooms, two of which are fully equipped with Apple Mac computers. Software used includes Cubase, Pro Tools and Sibelius.

The College has a fully-equipped recording studio with two live rooms, a dedicated drum room and a central control room, all linked with video cameras as well as sound cabling. The Recital Hall can also be used as a recording space for large ensembles, linked directly to the control room.

The College also employs a full-time Sound Engineer.
