The Prep School
Years 4-6
Years 4-6 at Clifton College mark an exciting shift as pupils grow in confidence, independence and curiosity. This is a stage where children begin to take greater ownership of their learning, supported by specialist teachers who open the door to new subjects, skills and interests. With expert guidance in areas such as science, languages, sport, music, computing and the arts, pupils are encouraged to explore widely, discover what inspires them and develop the habits of independent learners.
The Prep School ethos is rooted in trying everything - giving every child the chance to experiment, take risks, build resilience and uncover their individual strengths within a warm, supportive community.

Our unique House system
In Prep School pupils are introduced to the unique Clifton College House system. This provides them with a dedicated space to complete homework, relax with friends and a place to grab a healthy snack at break time.
Subject specialists
The Prep School not only represents new classrooms and new subjects, but also an increased sense of independence. Pupils travel between classrooms for lessons taught by subject specialists.
The Prep School has dedicated, fully equipped classrooms for specialist subjects including DT, art, cookery and science.
Sports fixtures
We put out several teams for our weekly sports fixtures, ensuring that all pupils get to participate as part of a team, whatever their skill level.
Parents are invited to support our school teams at fixtures at our sports ground and at away fixtures. These are wonderful community events for parents, and grandparents, whilst offering support and encouragement to our pupils.
