Familiarity and healthy challenge

Year 3 offers a wonderful blend of familiarity and fresh challenge: pupils remain part of a warm, caring community while beginning to experience greater independence and responsibility in their learning.

With access to a broader curriculum, experiences, facilities and a wider range of activities, children are encouraged to explore new interests, build on their strengths and discover what inspires them.

It is a joyful and energising stage of school life, where curiosity grows, friendships deepen and pupils take their first steps into the full Prep School experience.

New opportunities in a nurturing environment

Our unique House system

In the Prep School pupils are introduced to the unique Clifton College House system. This provides them with a familiar space to relax with friends, complete homework, and a place to grab a healthy snack at break time. Each House is supported by a dedicated House team to ensure every child feels welcome and at 'home'. Regular House events and competitions help pupils to create bonds that last throughout their school years and beyond.

Sports fixtures

We put out several teams for our weekly sports fixtures, ensuring that all pupils get to participate as part of a team, whatever their skill level.

Parents are invited to support our school teams at fixtures at our sports ground and at away fixtures. These are wonderful community events for parents, and grandparents, whilst offering support and encouragement to our pupils.

Performance Opportunities

Each year our Year 3 cohort take to the stage in our very own theatre, The Redgrave Theatre. The pupils throw themselves into every moment, showcasing brilliant teamwork, energy and enthusiasm. It's a wonderful opportunity for them to build confidence, shine on stage and create memories they’ll carry with them for years to come.
