Congratulations to all pupils who took part in this year’s House Song Festival, featuring both the Part-Song and Unison competitions.
The evening was filled with colour, energy and uplifting performances, reflecting the dedication, creativity and commitment that pupils had put into their preparations. Standards were exceptionally high throughout, making the competition one of the closest in recent years.
This year’s adjudicator was Liz Lane, the highly respected composer, arranger and educator, as well as Composer in Association with the Grimethorpe Colliery Band and a former Assistant Director of Music in the Prep School. She praised the outstanding quality of performances across all entries.
In the Part-Song competition, highly commended mentions were given to Hallward’s House, Oakeley’s House and School House, with Moberly’s House taking first place. In the Unison competition, highly commended awards went to Hallward’s House, Moberly’s House, Oakeley’s House and Watson’s House, while West Town were named winners.
A huge well done to every pupil involved, particularly those who embraced the challenge of the Part-Song competition and led their houses through the additional rehearsal commitments. Special thanks also go to the staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to support the event and help make the evening such a success.
