On the 9th May, a selected team of six Clifton College pupils took part in the Ten Tors 2026 Expedition alongside 2400 other competitors. The team navigated the 35-mile route A over North Dartmoor, visiting ten nominated Tors and check points in under two days. The team needed to be self-sufficient, carrying all that they needed to complete their route and stay out overnight safely.
Clifton College summited their 8th Tor at 1852hrs on the first day where they camped overnight, navigating 29.7 miles of their route with a height gain of 1520m. They were up early on Sunday morning cooking their breakfast and taking down tents ready to get their Control Card stamped at 0600hrs. The team crossed the finish line at 0955hrs on the second day coming second in group A. Over the two days the team covered a total of 40.2 miles and an impressive 2203m of ascent.
This 35-mile team showed great determination, resilience and teamwork throughout all the training and the event which is what Ten Tors is all about. The team was led by a focused and determined Team Leader who expertly navigated the team to success in a memorable experience for all - well done!
