Nicholas Hammond Society Scholars Dinner

Recently, our Academic, Drama, Music, Art and DT scholars from Years 9-11 attended what was a highly successful and enjoyable annual Nicholas Hammond Society Dinner.

Beginning with a wonderful music concert by our Music scholars in the Chapel, we moved on to an interactive exhibition by our Art scholars in the Newbolt Room, then everyone processed up to BSK for a formal black-tie celebratory dinner.

After Year 11 scholar, Rory, recited the traditional Clifton College scholars grace (in perfect Latin!), the evening proceeded with various puzzles, quizzes and challenges. This year Dr Wells gave the keynote address which traced the heritage of scholarship at Clifton since its foundations under the first Headmaster, Dr John Percival, and then considered the application of the “di Lampedusa principle” for scholars today and in the future. 

With the Scholarship Programme officially ‘launched’ for the 2025-26 year, no doubt our current scholars will relish the opportunity to take up this challenge as they head into the year ahead.
