Many congratulations to all pupils who took part in this year’s House Song Festival, which once again brought together colour, energy, and a wealth of musical talent through the Part-Song and Unison competitions.
The event was adjudicated by Wendy Sergeant, a highly respected song arranger, workshop leader, and director of several choirs across Bristol and the South-West. Wendy praised the exceptionally high standards across all Houses, noting the impressive number of a cappella performances that demonstrated a beautiful blend and great tuning in the harmonies. She particularly highlighted those performances that showed a real sense of communication and dynamic variation.
With such outstanding quality throughout, selecting the winning Houses proved no easy task. After much deliberation, the results were:
Part-Song Competition
Highly Commended: The South Town, Moberly’s
Winners: Oakeley’s House – retaining their crown from 2024!
Unison Competition
Highly Commended: West Town, Moberly’s
Winners: Wiseman’s House
The festival was a true celebration of teamwork, creativity, and dedication. Congratulations and thanks go to everyone who participated, especially those who took on the challenge of leading their Houses and coordinating rehearsals.
A special thank you also goes to the staff members who supported the event behind the scenes, helping to make the evening such a resounding success.
