We are delighted to share that five of our pupils have qualified for the National Finals of the Aberdare U19 Cup 2026, marking a landmark moment for Girls’ Tennis at the College. We are incredibly proud of the team, whose hard work, dedication and exceptional performances have earned them a place among the top school teams in the country.
Thanks to the outstanding World Tennis Number rankings held by our players, the Clifton College team is currently ranked No. 2 in the UK. This prestigious position places us among the top four schools nationally to receive automatic entry into the National Finals, allowing the team to bypass the regional qualifying rounds entirely - a first in the history of Clifton College Girls’ Tennis!
The National Finals will take place from 24-27 June 2026, bringing together the strongest school teams from across the UK. Recognising the significance of the event, the Lawn Tennis Association will be funding accommodation and breakfast for all qualifying teams, ensuring players can focus fully on their performance.
This is a remarkable achievement and a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to compete against some of the highest‑rated young players in the country. We look forward to supporting the girls - and potentially the boys, who have currently reached the Regional Semi-finals - as they represent Clifton College on the national stage.
Congratulations to the entire team on this historic accomplishment. We are cheering you on every step of the way!
