The traditional March Off along the Parapet this week was a moment steeped in both pride and poignancy, a ceremony marking the formal departure of our dedicated Upper Sixth Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs). This tradition served as a tribute and a proud farewell to a group of young leaders who have completed their significant service within the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) at Clifton College.
For four years, these senior cadets have demonstrated commitment, leadership, and a steadfast sense of duty to the CCF programme. They have navigated the rigorous training schedules, supported younger recruits, and upheld high standards, leaving a mark on their respective sections. Their final official duty was performed with a sense of pride, watched by a gathering of their peers and the younger members of the CCF, all of whom turned out to congratulate and applaud their efforts.
The sight of them marching off the Parapet for the last time symbolised the conclusion of an important chapter in their school lives. Their service has been exemplary, establishing a benchmark for all cadets who aspire to leadership roles within the CCF in the years to come.
