Clifton College's production of Peter Pan at the Redgrave Theatre

Friday 19 December 2025

Congratulations to all students involved as cast, technical crew, and musicians for November’s Upper School production of Stiles and Drewe’s magical Peter Pan at the Redgrave Theatre.

This year’s Upper School sell-out production of Peter Pan truly exemplified the spirit of Performing Arts at Clifton College. It was not only a resounding success but also a celebration of creativity, teamwork, and ambition. From the very first audition in the opening week of term to curtain up on opening night, students worked within a fast-paced rehearsal schedule to bring this technically demanding show to life. The process gave our young performers and technicians a unique opportunity to experience what it is like to collaborate with a multitude of industry professionals.

James Moore, Director of Performing Arts, in collaboration with the Upper School’s Director of Music, James Drinkwater, and assisted by countless colleagues and experts, worked alongside the extraordinary production designer Rebecca Walker and masterful lighting designer Tom Barge to ensure the production became a feast of visual excitement and audio beauty. These professional contributions, alongside lavish costumes, wigs, hair styling, and make-up, elevated the show to a level rarely seen in school theatre and gave students invaluable insight into the standards and expectations of the performing arts industry.

With a cast of over 50 students, supported by student lighting and sound technicians, stagehands, and a live band of students and professionals, the production merged newly devised ballet sequences, fight choreography, flight scenes, and reimagined musical numbers. Every element, from the magical score and dialogue to the choreography and technical wizardry, was a testament to the students’ commitment to learning new skills and collaborating effectively.

This was the College’s most technically challenging show to date, and the result was a week-long run of sold-out performances enjoyed by parents, the public, and visiting schools through our outreach programme.

Bravo to everyone involved for creating a truly unforgettable theatrical experience!
