Earlier this week, we welcomed 16 local prep and primary schools to Clifton College to take part in our Year 6 Maths Challenge. This annual event has become a highlight in our calendar, and it's great to have schools from across the region visit us.
Throughout the morning, pupils worked in teams to stretch their problem-solving skills and apply their mathematical knowledge in new ways. The challenge featured four varied rounds that tested a range of mathematical concepts and skills as well as their ability to collaborate and communicate.
The atmosphere was lively from the first countdown to the final question, with teams showing real enthusiasm and determination. Staff and Sixth Form volunteers from Clifton College were on hand to support the day, guiding groups between rounds and encouraging pupils as they worked through each task.
A huge congratulations to Southville Primary School, who finished in first place after a closely contested final round. Beaudesert Park School secured second place, with Dean Close St John’s taking third. All participating schools deserve great credit for the spirit and effort shown throughout the competition.
We look forward to welcoming the next cohort of Year 6 pupils in 2026!
