Our Year 6 residential camp was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. We were incredibly lucky with the lovely weather, which made every activity even more enjoyable. Surrounded by woodland and far away from screens and technology, it was the perfect opportunity for everyone to enjoy nature, adventure, and time together outdoors.
The children were a real credit to themselves and the school. They were well behaved, polite, enthusiastic, and willing to try every activity with a positive attitude. It was wonderful to see them supporting one another, building confidence, and making lasting memories.
The Great Wood staff were fantastic throughout the trip putting together activities that were simple but great fun, giving the children plenty of chances to work together, challenge themselves, and enjoy the outdoors. Some of the highlights included tracking and trailing through the woods, testing teamwork and observation skills, and the exciting muddy night line, which certainly brought lots of laughter. Archery was another favourite, with many children surprising themselves with their accuracy and determination. Duck racing also proved to be a huge success, creating plenty of excitement and friendly competition.
Having the whole place to ourselves made the experience even more special. With no distractions from technology, the children were able to fully immerse themselves in woodland life, adventure, and friendship. It was a fantastic residential camp that everyone will remember for years to come!
