200 under 11 rugby players attend Clifton College Rugby Development Day

200 under 11 rugby players attended our annual Rugby Development Day at the weekend, however, this year there was a bit of a difference.

The day was hosted at our Chellaram Sports Complex and took the format of a Bristol Bears pre season camp, with fitness testing from the club of all the players and the chance to compare themselves to the stars they watch each weekend.

A unique opportunity to combine with our partners Bristol Bears, and their wonderful athletic performance staff, gave players an insight into a day in the life of a professional player at the start of a season.

The morning focused on fitness testing, combined with specific return, to play skills focusing in contact and game awareness. The players also got to meet our own sixth form rugby players and also our former pupils who are now young academy professionals at Bristol Bears.

After a well-earned lunch, the players got to show all they had learnt in an afternoon of mini matches.
