Forest School at Clifton College

In the Pre-Prep, our Forest School is more than just an outdoor activity; it is an essential part of our Early Years curriculum that fosters deep resilience and independent thinking from the very start.

By trading four walls for the canopy of the woods, children engage in child-led exploration that naturally builds confidence and a lifelong sense of wonder.

Our daily ethos centers on holistic development, where the tactile experiences of the natural world -from building dens to identifying local plants -strengthen both motor skills and emotional intelligence.

Our wonderful immersive environment encourages children to take calculated risks and solve problems collaboratively.

Ultimately, we believe that connecting with nature is essential for well-being, ensuring our youngest learners grow up with a profound respect for the environment and a balanced perspective on the world.

We are fortunate to have two dedicated Forest School sites: our expansive grounds at Beggar Bush and our convenient on-site Forest Garden.
