Clifton Celebrates Its Fourth Morehead-Cain Scholar

Tuesday 8 October 2024

Clifton College is proud to celebrate its fourth Morehead-Cain Scholar, Izzy Bevan (Holland’s House 2024). Izzy follows in the footsteps of three distinguished Old Cliftonians: David Brown (PH 1981), David Royle (DH 1973) and David Hermer (PH 1984), who recently reunited at the scholarship’s 55th anniversary dinner held at the English-Speaking Union on 26 September.

Izzy’s achievement was inspired in part by Gala Hermer, daughter of David Hermer, who also earned the scholarship while studying at Sevenoaks.

The Morehead-Cain is one of the United States’ most prestigious and competitive undergraduate awards. It covers full tuition and accommodation at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, along with four years of funded summer experiences designed to develop leadership and global perspective.
