Clifton College Welcomes New Families as New Academic Year Begins

Friday 18 September 2026

As we begin a new academic year, we have been thrilled to welcome the newest members of our community to the school.

To help families settle into life at the College, we hosted a number of special events designed to help parents and their children make early connections with their peers. On Sunday 6th September, new boarding families gathered for a sunny reception the evening before drop-off, while new day families enjoyed a morning breakfast in the Prep Hall later in the week.

At both events, guests were treated to an illuminating talk on the history of Clifton College, from our founding in 1862 to the modern day, helping them to understand our values and educational vision.

The following day, our new pupil induction was held in the Redgrave Theatre, where parents joined their children on campus to help them settle into their surroundings, followed by a reception in the Head's garden.

Prep School pupils and families gathered for their first Chapel service of the term, a cornerstone of College life. The service was followed by drinks receptions hosted across the individual Houses, providing a wonderful opportunity for both new and returning families to catch up and build lasting friendships.

Reflecting on the warm start to the term, Dr Chris Stevens, Executive Head, shared his thoughts on joining the Clifton College family: “As I settle into my own new role here, it has been a pleasure getting to know our community. Welcoming our newest families and seeing the energy their children bring to the school has been a highlight of the start of this term. We are delighted to have them with us as we all begin an exciting new chapter.”
