Clifton College Sports Ground Hosts The 2026 Bristol Kickboxing Open

Clifton College Sports Ground was proud to welcome athletes, coaches and spectators from around the world to the Bristol Open 2026, a three-day international kickboxing event hosted inside our state of the artChellaram Sports Complex.

The weekend marked an exciting opportunity for us to welcome a new sport into the Chellaram Sports Complex, showcasing the versatility of our facilities and our commitment to supporting a diverse range of sporting events.

Three Days of World-Class Kickboxing

Held under the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO), the Bristol Open 2026 brought together talented athletes for three days of high-level competition, with competitors demonstrating impressive skill, speed and determination throughout the event.

Welcoming athletes from around the world, the tournament created a fantastic atmosphere at Clifton College Sports Ground, bringing together competitors, coaches, officials and spectators to celebrate the sport of kickboxing.

It was a pleasure to see the Chellaram Sports Complex transformed into a hub of international sporting competition, providing a new and exciting setting for a sport we were delighted to host.

More Than Just Sport

Alongside the action inside the competition area, the weekend offered plenty for spectators and visitors to enjoy, helping create a welcoming atmosphere throughout the venue.

Food trucks and refreshments, including Jack's Coffee Shack, gave attendees the opportunity to grab a bite to eat or enjoy a coffee between bouts, adding to the experience for everyone attending across the three days.

Events like the Bristol Open demonstrate the importance of creating an environment that goes beyond the competition itself, bringing people together and providing a great experience for athletes, families and spectators alike.

Showcasing Our Facilities

Hosting the Bristol Open was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the capabilities of our Chellaram Sports Complex. Designed to accommodate a wide range of sporting activities and events, the facility provided an excellent setting for a busy weekend of international competition.

Welcoming kickboxing into the Chellaram for the first time was another great example of how our facilities can cater to different sporting disciplines, and we look forward to building on this with future events.
