3G Pitch Reopened at Clifton College Sports Ground

After working with our longstanding partner, Verde, we are pleased to announce that the new 3G Pitch at the Sports Ground is now fully refurbished and open for use. 

The previous surface, originally installed in 2008, served us well beyond its projected lifespan of 10 years, a testament to its quality and the care taken in its maintenance.

In addition to the new, modern surface, the floodlight system has been updated with the latest LED technology. This completes the upgrade programme of all Sports Ground artificial pitches to LED floodlights which maximises energy efficiency, the quality of experience and works in tandem with our College-wide sustainability aspirations. 

The new pitch is now registered on the National Football Foundation 3G Pitch Register which is positive from a reputational and awareness creation perspective and it confirms we can host FA affiliated activity.

We have also been quick to re-book slots with longstanding commercial partners from grassroots, club and elite performance levels. We are excited to agree a new partnership with Bristol Rovers Women with ongoing training and matches scheduled.

In the past we have welcomed professional football teams to training sessions as they prepare for fixtures in the local area, we are looking forward to promoting the new pitch for this type of market.

Commercial football leagues will restart before mid-November which will generate income and showcase the facility to the wider local community. 

The Sports Ground Team are excited to host Clifton College football on the new surface along with matches on the adjacent elite standard grass pitch which will really showcase two superb resources.

Over the last 12 months the Chellaram Sports Complex and improved supporting infrastructure has helped elevate the quality and reputation of the Sports Ground and the College as a whole. The new 3G pitch continues this trajectory and reinforces the College culture towards sport, exercise and community with high end facilities and opportunities.
