The Upper Sixth Form biologists experienced what it is like to work in an undergraduate teaching research laboratory at Bristol University this week.
Following a brief lecture on cardiovascular physiology, they undertook a research investigation examining the effect of exercise on reaction times & ECG traces, using state of the art equipment that is typically found in a university setting.
This was a great opportunity to use their A level knowledge and to put it into context. The trip finished with an interactive tutorial session examining abnormal ECG traces and the reasons why they may occur.
Great fun was had by all - well done!
