We had so much fun at our Forest Discovery Day. Parents and pre-schoolers enjoyed a morning of hands-on activities including mud sculpting, painting, whittling, sawing, den building, face painting and marshmallow toasting in our magical Forest School.
It was a great opportunity for people to explore and see what the children get up to at our Forest School, which has achieved a Gold Award in the Woodland Trust's Green Tree Schools Awards. Children are able to build independence and self-esteem as they complete the many and varied tasks that take place there. They learn to handle tools, care for the environment, cook on a campfire and observe the changing seasons.
Sue Ingram, Clifton College's Forest School Leader, said: “We are so proud of our Forest School and the opportunities it affords children. It was wonderful to be able to share the space with so many people and to witness their engagement and enjoyment with a host of outdoor activities .”
