Year 5 head to Glastonbury Abbey

IMG_1609To accompany their studies of King Arthur and the Anglo Saxons, our Year 5 children set off for Glastonbury Abbey, the ruins of a monastery and scheduled ancient monument, which was founded in the 7th century.

During their visit, the children took part in several activities, including making toothpaste, trying calligraphy and helping out in an old Saxon kitchen.

Despite the drizzly weather, the pupils showed great enthusiasm and returned to school far more knowledgeable about life in that era.
