Clifton College Selected as Severn Stars Training Location

Severn Stars - Copy (1)We are excited to announce that Clifton College has been chosen as one of the locations for the Severn Stars NOVA academy Netball training sessions.

Severn Stars are an elite netball team who compete in the Vitality Netball Superleague each year. They will train at our first-class Indoor Tennis and Netball Dome and improve their strength and conditioning in our gym every week.

Laura Rudland, Head of Netball at Clifton College, said: “I am so pleased to be coaching and hosting one of the Severn Stars NOVA academies here at Clifton. There are so many talented Netball players in Bristol and it is an excellent opportunity to develop talent and progress players through the pathway. Hopefully this will help to inspire girls to reach their full potential and play at the top level.”

We value our relationship with Severn Stars highly as one of our pupils, Steph Armour, was selected into their academy and trains with them twice a week.

Dr Anita Navin, Head of School Sport and Exercise at the University of Gloucestershire, said: "I am delighted Clifton College are now a Severn Stars NOVA Academy and this offers excellent opportunities to develop netball players in Bristol.

“I have been so impressed with Laura Rudland's approach to playing at Severn Stars and to know she is coaching the next generation of players at Clifton and in the NOVA is reassuring. Laura will offer coaching of a high level and Clifton will no doubt have a significant impact on the development of Netball."
