Our Sixth Form sculptors enjoyed a trip to Hauser and Wirth Somerset and the New Art Centre at Roche Court on 5th October.
The students were treated to guide tours with the gallery staff, interesting discussions about the artist’s work and their working processes, and engaged in a range of drawing activities in response to the artworks on display. They saw a wide range of abstract, figurative modern and contemporary artworks which they can take inspiration from in their individual art projects.
They had a very inspirational trip here is some feedback from our students:
"We were able to explore the different Sculptures and interact with the incredible range of artwork through drawing activities. The inspirational artists are sure to have an impact on my own work."
"I found Roche Court very interesting as I have never been to a Sculpture Park before. It was fascinating to see abstract and more figurative artwork."
"I found the trip very inspirational and I have had a lot of ideas from the trip that I can use as a starting point for my own project. I liked the quick drawing activities and how Beth interacted with us, answering some professional questions."
