Last week saw the College’s Part and House Unison Song Competition take place, a truly brilliant evening where all pupils get involved in a hotly contested sing together.
The evening commenced with Part Song, showcasing some of the College’s best talent, with each of the impressive performances demonstrating both humour and harmony. The well-deserved winners were West Town with their captivating rendition of ‘The Climb’ by Miley Cyrus, with special mention going to Oakley’s House for their incredibly put-together arrangement of ‘Work Song’ by Hozier.
The second part of the evening was the House Unison Song Competition which saw the chapel buzzing with incredible amounts of house spirit and excitement. Highlights included the solemn raising of the North Town flag during their rendition of ‘Chasing Cars’ by Snow Patrol as well as South Town’s entertaining and eclectic collection of costumes whilst singing ‘Human’.
Although fiercely competitive it was great to see so much support from the entire school as they clapped and stood for each other’s songs. The adjudicator was full of praise for all the performances. Congratulations go to Hallward’s House who won the overall competition with their tuneful ‘Make You Feel My Love’ by Bob Dylan.
A huge well done to everyone who performed in the House Song Competition making it a truly successful night and great fun for everyone!
