This year's Winter Concert was, without a doubt, one of the highlights of the Michaelmas Term. With over 100 pupils performing, the range and versatility of the programme was quite remarkable.
The evening started with a rousing orchestra performance of the theme from Game of Thrones and ended with The Swing Band encouraging the audience to join in with Neil Diamond's classic, Sweet Caroline. On the more traditional front, The Baroque Trio gave an exquisitely sensitive performance of Handel's Arrival of the Queen of Sheba and the Guitar Group gave a moving rendition of Negri's Vilanella. Add to this the Christmas spice of the Junior Choir delighting the audience with Santa Baby and When Christmas Comes to Town and the result was a sophisticated, fun and highly accomplished musical occasion for all.
Well done to our young musicians and thank you to the Preparatory School Director of Music, Julian Edgell, for pulling it all together with such panache and for starting the festive season with such a bang!
