The Preparatory School was delighted to host the joint Year 5 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) day with Elmlea Junior School in conjunction with the Bloodhound Project SSC team.
The Bloodhound Project is a global Engineering Adventure, using a 1000mph world land speed record attempt to inspire the next generation to enjoy, explore and get involved in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Dressed in NASA space suits, Head of Science Tom Harris and teacher Sam Morgan inspired pupils to become ‘eggsplorers’, helping teams launch eggs into space using paper rockets.
We would like to say a huge thank you to the Bloodhound leaders, who gave pupils the knowledge and tools to design, build and race their own model rocket cars. The winning team was from Elmlea Junior School who will have their name added to the tail of the Bloodhound Super Sonic car. All pupils had a fantastic day!
