With just over a week to go before Bristol Rugby kick off the 2017/18 season as part of the new Greene King IPA Championship, the squad intensified preparations with a residential training camp at Clifton College.
It is an exciting new chapter for Bristol Rugby under Pat Lam as new Head Coach. He said: "The team camp was a great chance to spend some time together and nail down our team objectives, as well as our season goals. We’re connecting really well as a group and we’re thankful to Clifton College for the use of their impressive facilities – it was a hugely beneficial couple of days for Bristol Rugby."
The team play Hartpury at Ashton Gate on Sunday, September 3rd (3pm KO). Tickets are available via www.bristolrugby.co.uk.
Dr Tim Greene, Head of College, said: "It was a pleasure to welcome Pat Lam and the Bristol Rugby Squad here and to showcase and share our fantastic facilities. Rugby is hugely important to Clifton College and we hope that our close links with Bristol Rugby will really inspire our pupils.
"We wish Bristol Rugby the very best for the season ahead, we shall be following them closely and we feel immensely proud to have been part of their preparations. It was great to welcome back the three Clifton College pupils who have all signed contracts with the club and are now part of the squad."
The visit comes as Clifton College’s own 1st XV team players prepare to welcome Eton Rugby for a pre-season match this weekend before they depart for a week of intensive altitude training in Tignes ahead of their own 2017/18 season.
