Learning to paint landscapes

Landscape artist Feona Ness visited Clifton College Preparatory School this week to work with our Year 7 pupils.

Feona has a background in design and has been a painter for more than 25 years. She works directly from the environment, inspired by light, weather patterns, moods and colours. Her oil paintings are semi abstract but firmly rooted in the tradition of landscape painting.

The pupils worked in acrylic on A5 canvas to produce a landscape based on their own observations. They experimented with the concept of light, mood and atmosphere to create some very evocative scenes.
