Local printmaker Mary Collett visited Clifton College Preparatory School on Thursday 3rd November to conduct a printmaking workshop with all Year 6 students. Mary Collett is a Bristol-based printmaker who enjoys making lino prints of birds and animals – and maybe even a few people! She particularly loves to try to invent expressions for the birds and animals.
As part of their project on fish, Year 6 visited Bristol Zoo to complete drawings from direct observation and have created beautiful fish studies in lessons which they used to inform their prints. During the workshop, Year 6 learnt to cut out and print from individual lino plates.
The images below show Mary Collett working with Year 6 to create fish lino prints.
