Congratulations to Matthew Hemming, who has been awarded the highly prestigious Bulkelely-Evans HMC Scholarship Fund for 2016-17. The scholarship fund supports students doing worthwhile gap years in remote parts of the world, and Matthew will be working in Ghana with Project Trust.
The original scheme was available to boys only in HMC schools who were going to study in Commonwealth universities. In 1987, a scheme was setup whereby grants could be made to boys in HMC schools going on gap year projects between school and university.
The scheme is highly competitive, so Matthew did incredibly well to be awarded with the scholarship. We wish him all the best of luck and an enjoyable time, and will look forward to his return to the school so he can share and talk to us about his experiences.
